MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS
Getting to a medical appointment can be very difficult for many patients.
A taxi is therefore a practical solution.
I am approved by the CPAM (French national health insurance) to drive you to hospitals, clinics, healthcare centres and health establishments for your medical appointments, such as :
Hospital admission and discharge / outpatient hospitalization
Transport is provided for your admission to hospital or your return home following a full hospital stay, subject to a doctor’s referral.
Medical consultations
Transport to your appointments with specialists or GPs, eligible for reimbursement in accordance with your CPAM entitlement
Radiothérapy / Medical imaging (Xray, MRI, Scans, ...)

COVERAGE OF COSTS
In order to be eligible for coverage by the CPAM and, where applicable, your mutual insurance company (mutuelle) a medical prescription for transport (“prescription médicale de transport” ou “bon de transport”) is required. This prescription must be issued prior to transport by the prescribing general practitioner or specialist. You will not have to pay the transport costs up front and I will take care of the administrative procedures with the health insurance and mutual insurance companies (mutuelles).
Transport over 150 km one way : coverage for this type of transport requires a prior authorisation request (Demande d’Accord Préalable), also issued by the prescribing doctor. The prior authorisation request form must be completed and sent 15 days before the date of transport to the medical department of your CPAM (service médical) for the attention of the medical adviser (médecin-conseil). Once sent, if no response is received within 15 days, this means that coverage has been approved. If your request is refused, you will receive a letter from the health insurance fund.
If you wish, I can send your prior authorisation request to the CPAM on your behalf.
